CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va – The University of Virginia women’s tennis team won its first home match of the season over Dartmouth, 6-1, at the Boar’s Head Sports Club in Charlottesville on Saturday (Feb. 17).

Virginia started the match off in dominating fashion, sweeping the three doubles matches and capturing the doubles point. The Cavaliers then went on to win five of the six singles matches to clinch the 6-1 victory.

Third-year Christine Kim (McLean, Va./ Bishop Ireton), who is a regular at No. 2 doubles, made the most of her first spring dual match in the starting singles lineup by defeating Kelsey Surbaugh, 6-1, 6-1. Kim was playing in place of fourth-year Kelly Weaver (Kingston, N.Y./ Kingston) who is attending to a family emergency and was not in Charlottesville for the match.Virginia is now 3-1 in the spring and 7-1 overall.
