Virginia Places Three On All-ACC Lacrosse Team

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The 2001 All-Atlantic Coast Conference men’s lacrosseteam is well-represented with members from all four ACC teams. Some ofthe nation’s top lacrosse players were selected to the team in a vote ofthe league’s head coaches. Duke, Maryland and Virginia each placed threeplayers to the 11-member team, while North Carolina placed two memberson the team.
The All-ACC team includes Maryland’s Andrew Combs, the national leaderin goals per game, and Virginia’s Conor Gill, who ranks second in thenation in assists per game. Also selected to the team was Duke’s ScottBross, who ranks third nationally in face-off percentage won andMaryland’s Pat McGinnis, one of the nation’s top goalkeepers. McGinnisleads the nation in save percentage and ranks second in goals-againstaverage.
