Charlottesville, Va.- The IWLCA Poll Committee has released theeighth week’s rankings for the NCAA Division I lacrosse field for 2001.

The top 20 schools all remained the same this week, and the Tribeof William and Mary reached their highest ranking this season. moving up to#8.

The eighth weekly IWLCA Poll for the 2001 season is as follows(with current records, poll points,first place votes, and last week’sranking).

Two top-ten teams start off the week with #4 Loyola hosting #8Virginia on Wednesday. A rematch of the NCAA title game from 2000 takesplace on Wednesday as well as the top-ranked Terrapins welcome the #5Tigers. On Thursday the Georges hook up as the #3 Hoyas travel to the #17Patriots, and #11 James Madison draws against the new-#2 Blue Devils. OnFriday #6 Dartmouth and #7 North Carolina tangle. The Big Green turn rightaround and draw against the #2 Blue Devils on Sunday. Meanwhile on SaturdayMaryland will face their NCAA semifinal opponent from 2000 as they drawagainst the Greyhounds. #13 Yale and #20 Johns Hopkins tangle on Saturday.On Sunday the #3 Hoyas and #11 Dukes draw while #16 Hofstra and #19 BostonUniversity square off that day as well.
