Charlottesville, Va. — The IWLCA Poll Committee has released theninth week’s rankings for the NCAA Division I lacrosse field for 2001.

The same 20 teams remain in the poll from last week, and Dartmouthmoves to its highest ranking of the year into the #4 slot. James Madisonalso moved back into the top-10.

The ninth weekly IWLCA Poll for the 2001 season is as follows (withcurrent records, poll points,first place votes, and last week’s ranking).

The America East Champion will be crowned this week as #16 Hofstra,#17 Boston University, and Delaware and New Hampshire all meet at Hofstraon Friday with Hofstra and New Hampshire squaring off in one semifinal andBU and Delaware meeting in the other. The winner of the tournament gets anautomatic bid to the NCAA Championships. In other action, #15 George Masonand #18 Johns Hopkins draw on Tuesday. On Friday new #4 Dartmouth welcomes#1 Maryland. Saturday six ranked teams face each other as #12 Cornell takeson the #18 Blue Jays, #3 Georgetown and #5 Princeton draw, and #11 Syracusefaces the #19 Fighting Irish.
