Virginia Cancels Trip To Kentucky Conference Challenge

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. –

The University of Virginia volleyball team will not compete in the Kentucky Conference Challenge Friday and Saturday, September 14-15. All UVa intercollegiate athletic events have been postponed through Sunday, September 16 in light of the tragic events that occurred on Tuesday (September 11).

Virginia was scheduled to play Middle Tennessee State on Friday and San Jose State and Kentucky on Saturday in the Kentucky Conference Challenge in Lexington, Ky. The three matches will not be rescheduled.

UVa’s match at Georgetown on September 11 was also postponed and will not be rescheduled.

The Cavaliers’ (4-3) will return to action on Thursday, September 20 when they travel to Chapel Hill, N.C. for their Atlantic Coast Conference opener against North Carolina. UVa will then play N.C. State in Raleigh on Friday, September 21.
