For a second consecutive week, a Virginia Cavalier women’s soccer player has been named ACC Player of the Week. First-year Lindsay Gusick picked up the honor, following a two-goal performance at Richmond last Wednesday night and a game-winner in overtime to defeat Duke.
For the season, Gusick leads the team and the ACC with ten goals. She also leads the team with 21 points overall and has fired 54 shots in 14 games. Gusick has only started in the last nine games, but has made quite an impact over those nine games, scoring all 21 of her points over that span including a hat-trick against Liberty on Sept. 26, her first career start. She also leads the team with four game-winning goals this season.
The women’s soccer team returns to action this Thursday night at Klockner Stadium, when they host defending National Champion and top-ranked North Carolina at 7 p.m.
