The season accolades continue to pile up for first-year women’s soccer stadnout Lindsay Gusick, who has been named to Soccer America’s “Team of the Week” for her performance last week. Gusick tallied two goals in a 3-0 victory at Richmond last Wednesday night, then capped the week by scoring a game-winner at Duke in a 2-1 overtime victory over the Blue Devils. Gusick was named to the team earlier this season on October 9. She joins North Carolina’s Catherine Reddick as the only ACC players to be named to the Team twice this season.

For the season, Gusick leads the team and the ACC with ten goals. She also leads the team with 21 points overall and has fired 54 shots in 14 games. Gusick has only started in the last nine games, but has made quite an impact over those nine games, scoring all 21 of her points over that span including a hat-trick against Liberty on Sept. 26, her first career start. She also leads the team with four game-winning goals this season.

The women’s soccer team returns to action this Thursday night at Klockner Stadium, when they host defending National Champion and top-ranked North Carolina at 7 p.m.
