Five More Women's Soccer Players Honored By National Publications

Charlottesville, Va. – Soccer Buzz and Soccer America closed its postseason honors this past week, as the two prominent publications honored five Cavaliers from this year’s 17-4-2 team.

Lori Lindsey, was honored as a Soccer America MVP, one of eleven players nationally to earn the honor, while being a first team All-America and All-Mid Atlantic selection for Soccer Buzz. Lindsey also earned first team NSCAA All-Region honors, second team NSCAA All-America honors, closing her senior year with 11 goals and four assists.

Defender Kelly Worden earned her fifth postseason honor, as she was a third team Soccer Buzz All-Mid Atlantic selection. Worden was also a second team All-ACC selection, a second team NSCAA All-Mid Atlantic and second team All-State, as voted on by VaSID.

Freshman Lindsay Gusick was named to Soccer Buzz’ first team All-Region and All-America squads. Gusick was also one of two Cavaliers to be named to Soccer Buzz’ first team Freshman All-America team, joining Gillian Hatch. Hatch was also a Soccer Buzz Freshman All-Mid Atlantic and second team All Mid-Atlantic. Jamie Fabrizio was named to the Freshman All-Mid Atlantic team as well. Only Virginia and Texas placed two members to the first team Freshman All-America team.
