UVa Women's Tennis Opens Spring Season With Win Over Marshall

Charlottesville, Va. – The UVa women’s tennis team opened its spring season with a 4-3 victory over Marshall, at the Boar’s Head Inn tennis facility, in Charlottesville. A doubles win from the team of Amy O’Donnell and Christine Kim clinched the doubles point, while a Jennifer Tuchband victory at singles, clinched the match.
O’Donnell and Kim defeated Marshall’s team of Kroh/Nzudic by a score of 9-8. Also triumphing in doubles were freshman twins Dora and Marta Bechliwanis, defeated Marshall’s Johnson/Hock team by a score of 8-6.
The Bechliwanis twins also claimed victories in singles, as Dora defeated Nzudic, 6-3, 6-1, at No. 4, while Marta defeated Hock, 6-3, 6-0, at No. 5.
The Cavaliers return to action on February 2, when they take on Old Dominion in Virginia Beach, Va., at 2 p.m.
