No. 46 UVa Women's Tennis Drops Boston, 6-1

Miami, Fla. – The UVa women’s tennis team picked up its second win in a row, a decisive 6-1 victory over Boston University, in Miami, Fla. The Cavaliers improve to 8-2 on the season, and have won six of seven spring matches.
Henriette Williams won her second match in a row at No. 1 singles, a 5-7, 6-3, 6-2 win over Christina Causway. Williams teamed with Jennifer Tuchband at No. 1 doubles, to defeat Causway and Lyndsey Dynof, 8-4. It was the first victory for Williams and Tuchband as a team this spring, and also clinched the doubles point for the Cavaliers.
Amy O’Donnell, ranked No. 136 in the nation in the latest ITA rankings, improved to 10-2 with a 6-3, 3-6, 6-1 win over Elena deMendoza. O’ Donnell’s singles victory clinched the match for the Cavaliers. She teamed with Christine Kim at No. 3 doubles, to shutout Boston’s Marcu/Vartell doubles team. O’Donnell and Kim are a perfect 4-0 at No. 3 doubles.
Dora Bechliwanis improved to 11-4 on the season, with a 6-2, 6-2 win over Silvia Guglielmi at No. 4 singles. The Cavaliers are a perfect 11-0 on the season, in matches at No. 4 singles this season. Twin sister Marta earned her team-best 14th victory of the season, with a 6-3, 6-3 win over Alana Marcu. Marta Bechliwanis is currently ranked at No. 146 in the latest ITA rankings.
Laura James wrapped things up with a win at No. 6 singles, defeating Elisa Glass, 2-6, 6-3, 6-2. James is 7-5 on the season, 4-2 at No. 6 singles.
The Cavaliers take on the University of Miami on Monday, March 11 at 1 p.m.
