What is TEAM CAVALIER?

TEAM CAVALIER is the student fan organization for varsity sports at the University of Virginia. It is a student spirit group that supports UVA teams through organized participation of the student fansTEAM CAVALIER is an active student group whose members display school spirit in a manner that presents a positive image of the University of VirginiaTEAM CAVALIER members engage the fans in crowd participation and cheers and serve as an advocate to increase student involvement and attendance at games

Why should I get involved?

TEAM CAVALIER provides students who love their ‘Hoos the opportunity to show their commitment and devotion to the sport. TEAM CAVALIER has the potential to:

  • create game environments that are electric and full of energy
  • give a true home-team advantage to the Cavaliers
  • transform their spirit for the teams into a contagious atmosphere among other spectators
  • make our sporting events ROCK; creating an element of fear in the opponents that travel to play in Charlottesville

What does TEAM CAVALIER offer its members?

TEAM CAVALIER offers its student members the following:

  • an exclusive orange TEAM CAVALIER t-shirt (to be worn at all home games)
  • discounts and free merchandise at select Charlottesville food vendors and retailers
  • priority to receive premium items (e.g., shakers, apparel, etc.)
  • incentives for attending pre-determined games
  • food opportunities (i.e. cookouts) at certain games throughout the year
  • priority e-mails from the coaching staffs
  • closed practice sessions with University teams
  • dinner/social interactions with the teams
  • opportunities to meet and socialize with the team and coaches
  • newsletter for members containing important ‘Hoo News from Student Council’s Athletic Affairs Committee

How do I join?

TEAM CAVALIER is looking for energetic students to support Varsity teams with enthusiasm throughout the year.TEAM CAVALIER membership is easy

  • simply complete a short application
  • sign a contract of participation
  • provide payment of the $20 membership fee ($15 for returning members)
  • TO JOIN: Look for the TEAM CAVALIER sign-up tables at events throughout the semester or come by the Sports Promotions Office in Bryant Hall.
