No. 5 Virginia Women’s soccer team, 1-1-1 on the season, prepares for the Classic after competing in the 2002 UCLA Women’s Cup Sunday afternoon in Los Angeles. The Cavs came out of the tournament with a 0-0 draw against Southern California and they fell 4-3 in overtime to No. 2 UCLA. Previously, the Cavaliers earned a 7-0 win against Saint Joseph’s on their season opener.

The Richmond Spiders (3-1-0) come into the Classic after their second straight win of the season, a 4-1 victory over Tulane and a 4-0 win over #19, UPenn, during the JMU/Comfort Inn Women’s Soccer Tournament in Harrisonburg, Virginia. Earlier in the season, Richmond had a 2-1 win over American. The Spiders only loss so far was a 5-1 defeat against JMU.

Dartmouth, 1-1, got off to a rough start when they lost their opener against Iowa 3-1. The Big Green scored their first win of the season when they defeated New Hampshire, 2-1, Sunday in Durham, N.H.

The West Virginia Mountaineers are 3-1-0 this season after their 4-1 win over George Mason at home on Sunday. The Mountaineers opened their 2002 season with a 2-0 loss to Auburn, but have since had two shutouts against Jacksonville State (5-0) and Boston (3-0).

Game 3: UVa vs. Dartmouth 1:00 P.M.

Tickets to each game are available on game day one hour before kickoff when the gates open. Tickets are available at adult, youth, and senior citizen prices. Group tickets are available for groups of 20 or more an $2.00 each but must be purchased in advance by calling the UVa Athletic Ticket Office at 1-800-542-8821. Season tickets are also still on sale and may be purchased by calling the Athletic Ticket Office.
