CHARLOTTESVILLE – The Virginia men’s team completed play Sunday at the Homewood Suites Fall Tribe Classic, their first tournament of the year. On the day the Cavaliers won two singles matches and one doubles match at the Williamsburg event.

Second year Chris Gonyer earned a singles win at the No. 5 flight with a straight set decision over William and Mary’s Joe Brooks. Stephen Rozek recorded a win over William and Mary’s Stephen Ward by battling back after dropping the first set. The team of Darrin Cohen and Michael Duquette won their doubles match at the No. 1 flight over William and Mary’s Jeffrey Kader and Sean Kelleher.

The Cavaliers will return home to host their own tournament next weekend, Sept. 20-22. Play at the Snyder Tennis Center begins at 9 a.m. on Friday.
