FRANKLIN, Tenn. – The University of Virginia men’s golf team stands tied for 10th after the first two rounds of the Mason Rudolph Collegiate, which were completed late Monday.

Host Vanderbilt shot a 17-under 543 to lead the field of 11 teams. The College of Charleston stands second with a six-under 554, while Alabama is third at four-under (556). The Cavaliers are tied for 10th with Belmont at 585 (+25).

Individually, Vanderbilt’s Brandt Snedeker holds a one-stroke lead with a seven-under 133. Charleston’s Adam Grodhaus follows with a six-under 134, while Alabama’s Lars Brovold and Vandy’s Craig Dunlap are tied for third with 135 (-5).

Playing in his first collegiate meet, UVa freshman Brad Tilley (Chappaqua, N.Y.) is the top Cavalier, tied at 23rd. He shot a 143 (+3) overall, including a par 70 in the second round. Senior Thomas Lee (Guttenburg, N.J.) and junior Jeremy Luce (Austin, Texas) follow with a 147 (+6) each to tie for 39th. Senior Justin Goodhue (Glastonbury, Conn.) shot a 149 (+8), while freshman John Fizer (Trenton, N.J.) fired a 156.

The third and final round of the Mason Rudolph Collegiate tees off at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 17 at the Legends Club.
