CHARLOTTESVILLE – Virginia women’s soccer senior forward Darci Borski (Philadelphia, Pa.) was named ACC Women’s Soccer Player of the Week conference officials announced Monday. It is the second consecutive week that Borski has been honored by the conference.

Borski scored a goal in both of the Cavaliers’ games this past week, leading Virginia to two wins. On October 30, Borski scored with three seconds remaining to propel the Cavaliers to a 1-0 win over NC State. In the regular season finale, Borski scored the first goal of a 2-1 upset of No. 15 Florida State in Tallahassee.

The senior forward has scored in each of the Cavaliers last four games. Her two goals on the week continued her climb up the all-time scoring ranks at Virginia. Her 73 career points places her in ninth on that list, while her 29 career goals places eighth in that category.

Borski becomes the third Cavalier to win Player of the Week twice in the same season, joining Angela Hucles and Sandy Kwitnieski. She also becomes only the third player in the history of the conference to win the award in consecutive weeks, joining North Carolina’s Mia Hamm and Debbie Keller.

The No. 20 Cavaliers (11-5-2) will begin play at the ACC Tournament in Tallahassee on Thursday. Virginia, the No. 3 seed, will play No. 6 seeded Duke at 2:30 p.m.
