CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Virginia fell to Melbourne (Australia), 61-56 in exhibition action on Thursday evening at University Hall.

Senior Liz Sahin (Hatay, Turkey), junior Anna Prillaman (Midlothian, Va.), and junior Safiya Grant-Fairley (Bronx, N.Y.) paced the Cavs with 10 points each. Sophomore Brandi Teamer (Joliet, Ill.), who sat out the first half, added nine second-half points.

Kelly Lemezs led the Australians with 23 points, including 8-of-10 from the charity stripe. Nicky Simpson added 10 points off the bench.
