CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The nationally-ranked University of Virginia men’s and women’s swimming teams will compete in the Auburn Tiger Invitational Thursday through Saturday, December 5-7 at Auburn’s James E. Martin Aquatics Center. In addition to the Cavaliers, host Auburn and South Carolina’s men’s and women’s teams as well as the California women’s team will compete in the meet. Prelims begin at 11:00 a.m. Eastern time on Thursday and Friday and at 9:30 a.m. Saturday. Finals will commence at 7:00 p.m. Eastern time on Thursday and Friday and at 5:30 p.m. Saturday.

The Cavalier men are ranked 10th in the College Swim Coaches Association of America Top 25 Dual Meet Poll released November 27. Perennial Southeastern Conference power Auburn is ranked fourth, while South Carolina was ranked earlier in the season. One the women’s side, UVa is 11th in the CSCAA poll, while Auburn is the top ranked team in the nation. California is ranked ninth, two spots ahead of the Cavaliers, and South Carolina is tied for 22nd.

Both UVa squads are 3-0 on the season and have been idle since defeating Penn State on November 8. On October 26, Virginia’s men’s and women’s squads defeated South Carolina in dual meets.
