Virginia And West Virginia Players To Help Spread Christmas Cheer

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The University of Virginia Cavaliers and West Virginia University Mountaineers will have players spreading Christmas cheer to local families at the Charlotte Marriott City Center, the UVa team hotel, on Monday.

Fifteen families, selected by the Mecklenberg County Social Services Department, will spend an hour with the players under a Christmas tree while the Marriott provides food and drink. The families will then be presented with gifts donated by Dick’s Sporting Goods.

Representing UVa will be quarterback and ACC Player of the Year Matt Schaub, wide receiver Billy McMullen, and linebackers Angelo Crowell and Merrill Robertson. From the Mountaineers will be running back Avon Cobourne, tackle Lance Nimmo, defensive end David Upchurch and outside linebacker James Davis.
