Virginia Wrestling Prepares to "Rumble on the River" Against VMI

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The University of Virginia wrestling team will face the Virginia Military Institute (VMI) Keydets on Wednesday, January 8th in a non-conference dual match. UVa (1-3) and VMI (0-0) will face off at 7:00 PM in Jacobs Gym at the Collegiate School in Richmond, Va. in what promoters are billing as the “Wrestling Rumble on the River.”

The Cavaliers recently returned from Dallas, Texas where they competed in the 2003 Lone Star Duals. Virginia earned its first dual match victory of the 2002-03 season by defeating Stanford 28-14 in the event. UVa also dropped back-to-back decisions to #8 ranked Nebraska (34-9) and #18 Northern Iowa (25-12) before falling to Wyoming (32-12).
