CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The University of Virginia women’s basketball team is nationally ranked in several preseason polls.

The Cavaliers, which return all five starters this season, are ranked as high as No. 15 by Athlon Sports. UVa is also ranked No. 20 by Lindy’s Sports Annuals and No. 24 in the USA Today/ESPN coaches poll.

The Cavaliers, which finished last season at 17-14 with a 20th consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance, open the 2003-04 campaign at home with UNC Greensboro on Friday, Nov. 21 at 7:30 p.m.

Fans can get a preview of the 2004 Cavaliers as the team will play a home exhibition contest against the Premier Players on Friday, Nov. 14 at 7:30 p.m. at University Hall.
