Greensboro, N.C. – University of Virginia football players Heath Miller and Connor Hughes were named ACC Players of the Week today for their role in the Cavaliers’ 29-17 win over Georgia Tech last Saturday.

Miller was chosen as the Offensive Lineman of the Week after leading the offensive attack with six receptions for a career-high 110 yards and one touchdown, becoming the first UVa tight end to have a 100-yard game since 1991. He scored the game’s first touchdown on a 10-yard play in the first quarter. The sophomore from Swords Creek, Va., also had receptions of 22, 35 and 30 yards that resulted in first downs on UVa scoring drives. Miller has set an ACC record for tight ends this season with 53 receptions.

The most accurate kicker in the country, Hughes was perfect in the win and was selected Specialist of the Week. He tied a school record with five field goals (31, 25, 50, 30, 20 yards) to provide the margin of victory in the 12-point win. The sophomore from Williamsburg, Va., also connected on both extra points and finished with 17 points, the second-highest by kicking in school history. His 50-yard field goal in the second quarter was his third of 50+ yards this season, making him the only kicker in school history with more than one in a season.
