ST. LOUIS, Missouri – University of Virginia wrestling team members Scott Moore (Franklin, Pa./Franklin Academy) and Tim Foley (Stafford, Va./Brooke Point) competed in their third matches of the 2004 NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships at the Savvis Center. Moore has won all three of his matches and has advanced to the 141-pound National Semifinals. Foley stands 2-1 and is wrestling in the 165-pound consolation bracket.

Moore, ranked #1 in the country and seeded #1 at 141-pounds, posted his third victory of the event and improved his record to 49-0 overall after defeating Indiana’s #8 seeded Coyte Cooper by the score of 10-5 in the 141-pound quarterfinals. Moore will now face Iowa’s #5 seeded Cliff Moore in the semifinals round at 141-pounds in his next match.

Foley, ranked #11 in the nation and seeded #11 at 165-pounds, defeated Cornell’s Joe Mazzurco after recording a 10-0 major decision in his third match of the event in the 165-pound consolations bracket. Foley, improved his record to 36-5 on the season will now face N.C. State’s Dustin Kawa in the next round.
