Virginia Diver Andrew Barber Qualifies For Senior Nationals

MONTGOMERY, Md. – Rising third-year University of Virginia diver Andrew Barber (Vienna, Va./Marshall) has qualified for the 2004 Speedo USA Senior National Diving Championships, which will take place July 20-25 in Mission Viejo, Calif. Barber qualified for the meet by finishing sixth in the one-meter diving competition at the Senior Geographic Zone A Diving competition, which took place July 2-4 at the Montgomery Aquatic Center.
Barber placed sixth in the one-meter diving competition at the Zone A Diving meet with a score of 521.31 points to qualify for Senior Nationals in that event. Barber was also 10th in the three-meter competition with 426.84 points, but did not qualify for nationals.
Barber earned 2004 All-Atlantic Coast Conference honors by finishing third in the three-meter diving competition at the ACC Men’s Swimming and Diving Championships. He was also fifth in the one-meter event at the ACC Championships.
