Charlottesville, Va. – The kickoff for the 2004 Virginia football season is just around the corner and it appears that Orange Fever is ready to take over Scott Stadium on Sept. 11. In an effort to capitalize on the enthusiasm that Coach Al Groh’s push for Cavalier fans to wear orange has created, the UVa Department of Athletics has designed an official fan t-shirt for the 2004 football season bearing the slogan “Orange Fever.”

“There has been a dynamic change in the game environment at the Carl Smith Center, which is becoming a difficult place for visiting teams to play,” stated Groh. “The players and our fans have made a real connection which is visibly demonstrated by the sea of orange in the stands. The new bright Orange Fever t-shirts are a great way to participate with the team in the emotion of the game.”

The Orange Fever t-shirt is only $9.99 and currently available at the UVa bookstore, online at virginiasports.com or by calling 1-800-759-4667. The shirt will also be on sale at the Meet the Team event on Aug. 19 and at the home opener. All Cavalier fans are asked to wear Orange to the home opener vs. North Carolina on Sept. 11 as a culmination to Paint the Town Orange Week in Charlottesville.
