CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The Virginia women’s basketball team returns to Charlottesville for its home opener on Tuesday, Nov. 23 against Delaware State at 7 p.m.

Former Cavalier Wendy Palmer (1993-96) of the WBNA’s Connecticut Sun will meet fans and sign autographs beginning at 6 p.m.

The Cavaliers, under the guidance of head coach Debbie Ryan, stand 2-1 after Friday’s 65-55 win at Cleveland State. Senior Brandi Teamer leads the Cavaliers with 18.3 points per game and a team-best 8.7 rpg. Senior LaTonya Blue follows with 11.3 ppg and 5.3 rpg, while senior Jocelyn Logan-Friend adds 8.0 ppg and 3.0 bpg.

The Lady Vikings, under the guidance of fifth-year head coach Ed Davis, stand 1-0 after a 56-49 win over Marist on Saturday. Junior Talisha McCullough led the scoring efforts with 14 points, while junior Najmah Fauntleroy added 12 points.

This is the first meeting between Virginia and Delaware State in the sport of women’s basketball.
