Story Links

Nov. 23, 2004

Virginia field hockey athlete Mia Link was named to the STX/NFHCA All-American third team as announced by the organization. This honor is Link’s first All-American designation.

Link led Virginia with 15 goals and five assists for 35 points, including a 10-point outburst against Bucknell in the opening game of the year. Link’s four goals and two assists are the second-highest point total for a single game in Virginia hockey history. She added a hat trick against Longwood, becoming only the tenth person in Virginia history to record two or more hat tricks in a season. She also finished the year ranked sixth all-time in points as a second year and fifth in goals scored as a second year. Link was featured in the September 20, 2004 edition of Sports Illustrated’s “Faces in the Crowd” section. Link also earned All-ACC honors in 2004.
