CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – University of Virginia men’s golf signee Daniel Kefale (Woodbridge, Va.) has earned Junior Boy of the Year honors from the Virginia State Golf Association (VSGA).

Kefale is the 2004 VSGA Junior Amateur champion. He also qualified for the US Junior Amateur Qualifier where he participated in match play. The Virginia High School Class AAA state champion plays for Osborne Park High School in Manassas. Kefale will attend the University of Virginia next fall.

Kefale’s season was highlighted by posting a wire-to-wire victory at the VSGA Junior Amateur Championship at Bayville Golf Club in Virginia Beach. A rising senior at Osborne Park High School in Manassas, the victory signaled Kefale’s first State Junior Am victory. He also advanced to the first round of match play at the U.S. Junior Amateur Championship at The Olympic Club in San Francisco, Calif., in July.

Virginia has completed its fall schedule and will resume action on March 6-8 at the Seminole Intercollegiate.
