The University of Virginia women’s rowing team hosts Michigan State University at the Rivanna Reservoir on Saturday (April 2).

The regatta will begin at 9:00 a.m. The schedule of events is as follows: 9:00 – Novice eight 9:20 – Second varsity four 9:40 – Varsity four 10:00 – Second varsity eight 10:20 – Varsity eight

Virginia enters the competition after winning eight of 12 races at the ACC/Big Ten Dual Regatta on March 26 in Columbus, Ohio. UVa’s first varsity eight is ranked sixth in the nation in the first regular season USRowing/Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association NCAA Division I Varsity Eight Coaches Poll. Virginia’s second varsity eight crew was named the ACC Crew of the Week for its performances against Michigan and Ohio State at the ACC/Big Ten Dual Regatta.

Michigan State’s varsity eight is ranked 11th in the country. Michigan State most recently competed against top-ranked Princeton and fourth-ranked Brown at its first major sprint-racing regatta on March 26. Although Princeton and Brown defeated the Spartans in the first and second varsity eight events, the Michigan State varsity four crew won that competition and is a boat to watch against Virginia.
