SAN DIEGO, Calif.- – The USA U19 women’s basketball team stands a perfect 3-0 after an 88-50 win over China on the last day of round-robin play at the 2005 International Sports Invitational, held at San Diego State University, late Friday.

The squad, coached by Duke’s Gail Goestenkors, now advances to the Gold Medal game vs. China on Saturday, June 11 at 6 p.m. PDT. Australia and China will battle in the Bronze Medal game at 2 p.m. PDT.

Virginia sophomore point guard Sharneé Zoll (Marlboro, N.J.) moved into the starting line-up where she contributed four points, three assists, and two steals in 16 minutes of action.

Following the International Sports Invitational, the USA roster will be reduced to the official 12-woman roster for the USA Women’s U19 World Championship team. The U.S. team will then train on June 28-July 2 in Colorado Springs, Colo., and on July 3-6 in Washington, D.C., before playing two exhibition games in Hungary. The FIBA U19 World Championship is slated for July 15-24 in Tunis, Tunisia.
