Sarah Huffman Named to Hermann Trophy Watch List

CHARLOTTESVILLE – Virginia women’s soccer fourth-year midfielder Sarah Huffman (Flower Mound, Texas) was named to the preseason watch list for the Missouri Athletic Club’s Hermann Trophy. The 25-player list was announced Wednesday as the organization recognized early candidates for the award, given annually to the nation’s top player.

Huffman was a 2004 second-team NSCAA All-American and the ACC Defensive Player of the Year. She scored four goals on the season while setting a new school record with 14 assists on the year. Huffman was named the VaSID State Player of the Year and was one of 12 finalists for SoccerBuzz Magazine’s National Player of the Year.

The Cavaliers open the 2005 season on Friday, August 26 as they host Rhode Island at Klockner Stadium. Game time is 7:00 p.m.
