Today’s Game: The Cavaliers hit the road for the first time this season as they visit intrastate foe James Madison. Both the Cavaliers and Dukes enter the game undefeated. Virginia downed Rhode Island and West Virginia at home last weekend, while James Madison defeated Richmond and Loyola (Md.) at home.

The Series: This is the 23rd all-time meeting between the schools, with the Cavaliers holding a 19-1-2 edge in the series. Virginia has won the last seven meetings in the series, including two last season at Klöckner Stadium (5-0 in regular season, and 6-0 in NCAA Tournament).

Against the State: James Madison is the first of three in-state opponents for the Cavaliers this season (Richmond, Virginia Tech). All-time, Virginia has a 74-21-10 record against intrastate opponents. Under Steve Swanson, the Cavaliers have been even more dominant against in-state opponents, going 24-1-2. The Cavaliers have won their last seven games against intrastate rivals, outscoring them 32-0 in those games.
