Virginia field hockey student-athletes Katherine Blair, Mia Link and Allison Flynn were all named to the Dartfish South All-Regional team by the National Field Hockey Coaches’ Association today. This is Link’s second consecutive such honor while Blair and Flynn earn the recognition for the first time in their careers. The three athletes also represent the largest such class for the Cavaliers since 2001.

Blair, the starting keeper for the USA Junior National team that finished seventh at the Junior World Cup in September, faced almost 200 shots this year and was a key component in keeping the Cavaliers competitive in every game she played. Blair finished the year with a 69% save percentage.

Link, who earned third-team All-American honors in 2004, was also a member of the USA Junior National team. She notched six goals and added two assists in 2005, including a goal against American and the game-winning goals against Penn and VCU.

Flynn led the Cavaliers in assists with seven, and added two game-winning goals, including one in the upset in extra time against James Madison.

The Dartfish/NFHCA Division I All-American teams will be announced on Monday, Nov. 21.
