CHARLOTTESVILLE – Virginia women’s soccer fourth-year midfielder Sarah Huffman (Flower Mound, Texas) was named a semifinalist for the Hermann Trophy. Huffman is one of 15 players honored as semifinalists for the award, annually presented by the Missouri Athletic Club to the nation’s top player.

Huffman has four goals and a team high eight assists this season. Earlier this week she was named as one of the 15 finalists for Soccer Buzz Magazine’s National Player of the Year. She was a first-team All-ACC selection this season and was named to the ACC All-Tournament Team.

The Missouri Athletic Club will announce the three finalists for the award on December 9 at the Men’s College Cup. The three finalists will attend the announcement of the winner in St. Louis on January 6.

Huffman and the rest of the Cavaliers will return to action on Sunday, November 20 when they host Cal State Fullerton in a NCAA Third Round game at Klockner Stadium. Game time is 1:00 p.m. Tickets are available now at the UVa Ticket Office in Bryant Hall, open weekdays from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Ticket prices are $8 for adults and $4 for youth, seniors, and students from participating schools with ID. On Sunday, ticket sales and gates at Klockner Stadium will open at noon.
