Cavalier Sports Weekly Returns to the Air this Week

The second season of the award-winning Cavalier Sports Weekly, presented by the Virginia Lottery, continues Sunday, January 8th. The fast-paced, half-hour program provides comprehensive coverage of Virginia Athletics. Cavalier Sports Weekly can be seen regionally each Sunday at 12:30 p.m. on Comcast SportsNet. The program will also air on the new ABC, CBS and FOX affiliates in Charlottesville, on FOX 35 Richmond and on WSET-TV ABC 13 in Danville, Lynchburg, and Roanoke.

Sophomore wrestler Rocco Caponi will host the show. The program will feature highlights and analysis of the men’s basketball team’s games against Western Kentucky and Clemson, as well as a spotlight on junior co-captain J.R. Reynolds. Also included is the game story and analysis from UVA’s Music City Bowl victory, Al Groh’s thoughts on Marques Hagans’s inspiring play, and a look back 41 years ago to the opening of University Hall.
