About the Match: The Cavaliers and the Rams meet for the first time since 2001 as they inaugurate the new Indoor Tennis Stadium at the Boar’s Head Sports Club. The match is the home opener for the top-ranked Cavaliers, who opened the season last week with a loss to No. 9 Pepperdine and wins at No. 20 USC and No. 54 Minnesota. No. 33 ranked VCU is 6-0 on the season after sweeping all six matches in their 4+1 tournament last weekend.

On Top To Start: The Cavaliers open the 2006 season ranked No. 1 in the nation in the preseason ITA rankings. It is the highest ranking in school history, breaking the previous record of No. 2 set last season. With the ranking, the Cavaliers become the first ever school from the ACC to be ranked No. 1 in men’s tennis.
