UVa in Fourth Place at Two Rounds at UNC

Chapel Hill, NC – The ninth-ranked Virginia women’s golf team is in fourth place entering Sunday’s final round of play at North Carolina’s Lady Tar Heel Invitational at Finley Golf Course. The Cavaliers shot 13-over 301 during the second round for a 36-hole total of 604. Vanderbilt used a second-round 294 to hold a three-shot lead on the 17-team field at 19-over 595 through. Duke is second at 598 and North Carolina is third a 600.
Jennie Arseneault and Leah Wigger both shot even par 72 during the second round to lead UVa. Arseneault is fifth overall at 3-over 147 while Wigger is in 12th place at 149. Kristen Simpson is 25th overall at 152 after a 77 on Saturday. Rachel Smith is 55th overall at 159 while Whitney Neuhauser is 59th at 160.
At 144, Duke’s Jennie Lee holds a one-shot lead over the field after posting her second consecutive round of 72.
