CHARLOTTESVILLE – The Virginia women’s soccer team will be the No. 6 seed for this week’s ACC Tournament at the SAS Soccer Stadium in Cary, N.C. The Cavaliers will open play against No. 3 seeded Wake Forest on Wednesday, with game time set for 8 p.m.

The Cavaliers (10-6-2, 5-4-1) and the Demon Deacons (14-5-0, 6-4-0) are meeting for the second consecutive season in the quarterfinals of the tournament. Last year, Virginia topped Wake Forest 2-1 en route to reaching the finals for the second consecutive season.

In the regular season meeting between the teams, Virginia defeated Wake Forest 2-1 on September 21 at Klockner Stadium in the conference opener for both schools.

The winner of the Virginia-Wake Forest game will play the winner of the Florida State-Duke quarterfinal on Friday night. All quarterfinal and semifinal games of the tournament will be broadcast online by ACCSelect.
