CHARLOTTESVILLE – Cavalier senior goalkeeper Christina de Vries (Westlake Village, Calif.) was named a third-team Scholar All-American by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America, the organization announced. The team honors the nation’s top players who also have a cumulative grade-point average higher than 3.30.

In 2006, de Vries concluded her career by posting a 0.78 goals against average with eight shutouts while starting all 22 games of her senior season. For her career, she set Cavalier school records with a 0.780 goals against average and 31 career shutouts. Her career shutout total also ranks fourth in ACC history.

In the classroom, de Vries has a 3.41 grade point average, majoring in sports medicine.
