The No. 3 Virginia men’s tennis team hosts a pair of opponents in a doubleheader tomorrow at the Boyd Tinsley Courts at the Boar’s Head Sports Club. At 11 a.m., the Cavaliers face in-state rival Old Dominion and at 6 p.m., Virginia opens ACC play against the Maryland Terrapins.

The Cavaliers (10-1) are coming off a weekend where they bested two top-20 foes in No. 8 Pepperdine and No. 19 Boise State. Virginia defeated the Wave by a margin of 6-1 and downed the Broncos, 7-0.

Junior Somdev Devvarman was named ACC player of the week by the league on Monday after a stellar weekend in which he defeated two top-15 players. The honor is the second of the season for Devvarman and the fourth for the Cavaliers.

No. 56 Old Dominion has two players ranked inside the top 33 in singles in Harel Srugo and Henrique Cancado. The Monarchs are 7-2 on the season. No. 75 Maryland brings a record of 5-0 into tomorrow’s contest. In the past two seasons, Virginia has amassed an ACC regular season record of 18-2.

Virginia follows the doubleheader with an extended road trip. They travel to Cambridge, Mass. this weekend to take on Harvard and Boston College in a doubleheader and then see their next action with a trip to Baylor on March 17.

Admission to men’s tennis matches is free.
