Cavalier Women's Swimming Completes First Day of Competition at NCAA Championship Meet

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – The Virginia women’s swimming and diving team completed competition Thursday during day one of the NCAA Women’s Swimming and Diving Championships, held at the Minnesota Aquatic Center in Minneapolis.
In the first event of the day, the Cavaliers finished 21st in the 200 free relay. The team of Stephanie Glover (Raleigh, N.C.), Jess Lewis (Allentown, Pa.), Katy Bland (Raleigh, N.C.) and Amber Bialas (Virginia Beach, Va.) finished in a time of 1:32.38.
Jenna Harris (St. Louis, Mo.) swam a season best 4:50.07 in the 500 free, which gave her a 38th place finish. Megan Evo (Beverly Hills, Mich.) swam a season-best 2:01.63 in the 200 I.M., good for a 36th place finish. Also in the 200 I.M., Mei Christensen (Reston, Va.) was 47tth with a time of 2:02.23 and Erin Corgan (Marietta, Ga.) was 67th in a time of 2:05.69. Glover was 54th in 50 free with a time of 23.24, while Lewis was 61st in the event with a time of 23.40.
The meet runs through Saturday on the campus of the University of Minnesota.
