Virginia’s Erin Crawford, who earned All-American honors in 2006 in the 400 intermediates, ran a second consecutive sub-minute time to win her heat of the 400 hurdles and qualify for the finals at the Texas Relays. Crawford ran a 59.04 and was more than a second in front of the runner-up in her heat.

Teammate Ayla Smith shaved three-quarters of a second off her personal best time to finish third in her heat, running a 1:01.03.

Crawford, who holds the school record in the event with her 56.87, will run in the finals on Saturday, April 7.
