Charlottesville – Virginia’s Inge Kaars Sijpesteijn was named to the National Honor Roll by womensfieldhockey.com for her performance last week in the Cavaliers’ two wins. Kaars Sijpesteijn notched a pair of goals and an assist as the Cavaliers scored four goals and allowed only one in defeats of New Hampshire (2-0) and Vermont (2-1) in Vermont.
Against New Hampshire, Kaars Sijpesteijn helped the Cavaliers notch their first shutout of the season while scoring an insurance goal late in the game as Virginia won 2-0. The next day against host Vermont, the All-American assisted on the game-winner and then added an insurance goal as the Hoos knocked the Catamounts from the ranks of the unbeaten with a 2-1 victory.
Virginia returns to action on Friday as the No. 14/17 Cavaliers host in-state rival William & Mary. Game time against the Tribe is 7 p.m. at University Hall Turf Field.
