The Game
The Cavaliers continue a four-game homestand on Friday night as they host Liberty at Klckner Stadium. Virginia is looking for its 15th consecutive win against an intrastate opponent, dating back to 2004.

About the Cavaliers
Virginia enters the game with a 4-1-1 overall record and a No. 4 national ranking by Soccer America. The Cavaliers are coming off a pair of 4-0 wins over No. 18 Colorado and No. 25 Arizona last week to win the 2007 Virginia Nike Soccer Classic. It marked the first time since 2004 that the Cavaliers had won their tournament. Shannon Foley led the Cavaliers offensively last week with three goals and two assists in the games to earn tournament MVP honors. The Virginia defense posted a pair of shutouts, making five clean sheets in six games this year.

About the Flames
Liberty comes to Charlottesville with a 0-4-0 record on the season. The Flames suffered losses to Clemson, Northern Arizona, UC-Irvine, and Old Dominion to open the year.

The Series
The Cavaliers lead the all-time series 6-0-0, with all six games coming at Klckner Stadium. Two of those games, in 2001 and 2005 have been first round NCAA Tournament matches. Virginia has outscored the Flames 26-0 in the series, including last year’s 1-0 Cavalier victory, the closest match between the schools.

Foley Honored
Senior forward Shannon Foley received numerous accolades after her MVP performance at the Virginia Nike Soccer Classic last weekend. She was named the ACC Player of the Week and National Player of the Week by both Soccer America and Top Drawer Soccer. She was also named to Soccer Buzz’s National Team of the Week.

Up Next
The Cavaliers close out the non-conference portion of their schedule on Sunday as they host No. 24 William & Mary at 2 p.m. The Tribe (5-2-0) jumped into the national rankings this week after a 1-0 win over North Carolina on Sunday at the VCU Invitational.
