Sara Casscells helped the Cavaliers earn valuable inter-regional points last year as the women finished sixth at the Roy Griak Invitational en route to a berth in the NCAA Championships. She returns to Minnesota this weekend as Virginia will compete in the Griak on Saturday. The Wilmington, Delaware native led the Cavaliers on the track in the 800m run.

Years of competitive running: Three years in high school, going on third year in college

Favorite place to run: Brandywine Park — it’s beautiful and the trails are soft

Most memorable race: The 4×800 at Penn Relays in high school

Race you would like to run: Chesapeake Bay Bridge marathon

Favorite Olympic event (non-athletics):Ice-skating

Favorite pre-race meal: Spaghetti with butter sauce the night before. Oatmeal on the day of the race.
