CHARLOTTESVILLE — The fourth ranked Virginia men’s soccer team hosts No. 12 Virginia Tech Friday night in its ACC home opener. Game time at Klckner Stadium is set for 7 p.m.

The Cavaliers (6-1-1, 0-0-1 ACC) are coming off a 3-0 victory over Mount St. Mary’s on Tuesday. Virginia got goals from Ross LaBauex (Chicago, Ill.), Yannick Reyering (Mettingen, Germany), and Will Hall (Shirley, N.Y.). For Reyering, it was his ACC leading sixth goal of the season.

The Hokies (6-1-1, 1-0-0 ACC) enter the game on a seven-game unbeaten streak after dropping their season opener at VCU. On Tuesday, Virginia Tech topped Richmond 1-0.

Friday’s game is the 37th all-time meeting between the schools with Virginia holding a 32-4-0 advantage in the series. This season marks the third consecutive meeting when both teams are nationally ranked. Last year, the Cavaliers downed the Hokies 3-1 in Blacksburg on Adam Cristman’s hat trick.

Friday’s game will be broadcast live online by ACC Select.
