Years I have been running competitively: Four in high school; currently in second year of college running
My favorite place to run: Burke Lake Park in Northern Virginia, because it’s shady and scenic
My most memorable race: Great American Cross Country Festival in 2002. It was so muddy people, including my coach who ran in the master’s race, lost their shoes, but kept running the race in their socks.
Race I would like to run: NCAA Cross Country Championships
My favorite Olympic event: Synchronized Diving
My favorite book: Beneath the Wheel by Herman Hesse
Music I listen to when I run: Guster, Citizen Cope, Arctic Monkeys, among other artists
My favorite pre-race meal: Grilled salmon, spinach, and wild rice
If I didn’t run, I would be doing: More volunteer work at elementary schools and I would probably have a job.
When I don’t run, I: Hang out with friends, work on research and volunteer
