Virginia failed to score on its first drive tonight, ending a 4-game streak.

John Phillips scored his first touchdown in the first quarter, his first TD
since the Duke game in 2005. He became the third tight end to catch a TD
pass for Virginia this season joining Tom Santi and Jonathan Stupar.

Jameel Sewell established a career high for touchdown passes tonight.

Sewell also became the 18th player in school history to pass for more than
2000 yards in a career.

Chris Long became the first Cavalier to block a field goal since D.J. Bell
blocked a Maryland FG in 2003.

Long recorded his seventh sack of the season in the first half. The sack is
the 15th of his career as he moves into a tie with Tom Kilgannon and Jon
Harris for 10th in UVa history.

Long also moved into a tie for eighth place with Kai Parham with 33 tackles
for loss in a career.

Andrew Pearman’s 21-yard touchdown run late in the second quarter was not
only the longest run of his career, it was also his first career touchdown.
He finished the game with two TDs

Keith Payne’s 17-yard run in the third quarter is the longest of his career.
He also finished with a career high for rushing yards.

Virginia scored at least 20 points for the fifth consecutive game, its
longest streak since a five-game run in 2004.
