CHARLOTTESVILLE The ITA Wilson Mideast Region Championships will continue on Thursday at the Boyd Tinsley Courts at the Boar’s Head Sports Club as play begins in the main draw of singles and doubles.

Two Cavaliers will be in action Thursday in the first round of singles, as will all four Virginia doubles teams. Lee Singer (Laguna Niguel, Calif.) and Ted Angelinos (Athens, Greece) will open play in the tournament with round of 128 matches. The other four Cavalier singles players, No. 9 seed Dominic Inglot (London, England), No. 9 seed Sanam Singh (Chandrigarh, India), No. 17 seed Michael Shabaz (Fairfax, Va.), and Houston Barrick (Brentwood, Tenn.) all have first round byes and will start singles play on Friday.

In doubles, No. 5 seeded Inglot and Barrick, No. 15 seed of Shabaz and Singh, and the team of Angelinos and Singer will open first round play on Thursday, while the team of Nick Meros (Tallahassee, Fla.) and Leif Sunderland (Malibu, Calif.) looks to advance out of the qualifying draw.

Play begins at 8 a.m. Thursday and admission is free.
