Cavalier Golfers Start Climb Up Rankings

Charlottesville, VA Following an eighth-place finish at Tennessee’s Mercedes-Benz Championships the Virginia women’s golf team moved up six spots to 27th in this week’s Golfweek rankings. The Cavalies are one of six ACC teams ranked in the top-30 of the poll.
Two of UVa’s golfers are ranked among the top-50 players in the latest Golfweek standings. Junior Lene Krog is 27th and freshman Calle Nielson is 39th. Krog has recorded top-10 finishes in all three tournaments she has played in this year and leads the team with a 72.56 stroke average. Nielson is second on the roster with a 73.33 average.
Virginia wraps up its fall campaign next weekend when the Cavaliers defend their title at The Landfall Tradition in Wilmington.
