CHARLOTTESVILLEThe Virginia women’s rowing team opens its fall schedule on Sunday, Oct. 28, at the Princeton Chase on Lake Carnegie in Princeton, N.J. The regatta is a three-mile head race hosted by Princeton University and the Carnegie Lake Rowing Association.

The Cavaliers are scheduled to race in the women’s open eight and small boat competitions at the Princeton Chase.

Last spring, Virginia finished second in the team competition at the 2007 NCAA Rowing Championships and the Cavaliers’ varsity four crew won the NCAA Championship in that event. UVa also won its eighth consecutive Atlantic Coast Conference Championship and won every race in which it competed in winning the South Region Championship and the overall championship at the South/Central Regional Championships.
